Thursday Night Adult Race League

It’s getting colder outside and we are pumped for another year of Thursday Night Adult League racing. We welcome back prior racers and anyone looking for a safe, accessible, and fun way to spend time on the mountain. At Granite Gorge, any riding type at any level can have a great time and benefit from our race programs — if racing is new to you, have no fears.

Giant Slalom on Main Street Ski • Snowboard • Tele Timed Runs 6:15–7:30 PM Roxbury Open Before & After

What’s New This Season

Race Team Captains Incentive

  • Help get more skiers and riders into racing
  • Captains spread the word at work, school and in the community, assist with sign-ups, and help check in participants on race night
  • Reach a full team of 6 (including yourself) and receive a free adult season pass for the year
Captain perk: Build a full team of 6 (including yourself) and earn a FREE Adult Season Pass.
We will have SWAG to give away during the season — don’t miss out.

Major Investments into the Hill

  • Additional netting, gates, and other items to ensure we have more than enough equipment for all racing needs (supporting Adult League and Keene High School teams)
  • Arriving early December: a new Prinoth groomer plus our overhauled Pisten Bully groomer — two groomers ready to deliver fantastic snow surfaces
  • Additional snowguns added, have been tested, and positioned to more quickly and efficiently coat the mountain in white gold as soon as weather permits

Program Overview

  • Our race league is internally operated and is not associated with NASTAR
  • We leverage many NASTAR-style guidelines such as handicaps, but racers will not collect points for a national NASTAR point system
  • Individual and team rankings follow a typical NASTAR-style points system including handicap points for sex and rider type (skier, snowboarder, tele)
  • The league competes in a single Giant Slalom course on our Main Street trail

Teams

  • Teams must be at least 4 racers and can have up to 6 racers
  • Teams require a Team Captain to sign up the group for a more efficient process
  • Individuals are welcome — we will create house teams so you can make new friends and have fun

Race Night Rules

  • All racers must fill out the online waiver prior to racing: https://waivers.granitegorge.com/index.php?id=7
  • Only registered racers allowed to race — no substitutions
  • Timed racing occurs between 6:15 PM and 7:30 PM
  • When completing race forms, indicate race category (skier, snowboard, tele, etc.)
  • At least 4 team members must show up for team results to be counted that night
  • Top 4 times from a team are used each race night for team results
  • Individual times are always recorded
  • Each racer gets two attempts; best time counts
  • Practice runs before/after official times may be available depending on turnout
  • Racers can ski/ride any OPEN terrain during lift ticket hours (no CLOSED trails)
  • Faulty timing runs will be re-run
  • Most importantly: have fun — no need to take this too seriously

How Registration Works

Team Captains

  • Captains create a team and pay the full team fee at signup
  • Team name required
  • Racers register separately under the team and complete their electronic waiver
  • Racers pay captains directly (funds will not be charged to each individual racer during registration)

Team Racers

Already have a team? Register under your captain’s team.

Individual Racers (House Team)

  • Register as an independent racer and pay $125 (or $75 for season pass holders)
  • GGMP staff will place you on a house team and email the group when finalized
